As the vibrant light of Reconnect weekend recedes into the rearview, we want to take this moment to express, as thoroughly as we're able, how very grateful we are to have been able to share this with all of you. We obviously have a lot of people who, without their help, Reconnect would never have existed. We've thanked them all online and in person multiple times at this point, so we won't belabor it, but just because we would be remiss if we didn't:

When Mr. Guides was young and Kingdom Hearts was new, being a Kingdom Hearts fan could be a lonely experience. Having the opportunity to find other people who share this love from all around the world through the internet has been life-changing. Just knowing that these other souls are out there is enough; but there's a magic to looking directly into each other's eyes that can't be replicated across distance. Disconnection is always there, but it's been so profoundly heavy these past few years. We know everyone is struggling with that weight, at least a little. We wanted you to know that we see you. We wanted you to know that you are not alone.

Thank you for taking a leap of faith and letting the power of Kingdom Hearts guide you to us. Thank you for fearlessly sharing your authentic selves. Thank you for trusting us. We can have as many hopes and dreams as we want about how to logistically create an entire experience that we think is worthy of the Kingdom Hearts community. But without all of you, none of it has the breath of life.

We've been planning Reconnect for eighteen months. It's been a very long road and sometimes we weren't sure there was anyone out there that needed or wanted what we were trying to do. But walking onstage on the first night and seeing all of your faces smiling back at us - it's a kind of confirmation that makes all the work feel like it's nothing.

We hope that you felt celebrated. We hope that you felt safe. We hope that you felt like you belonged.

This is a community unlike any other. And like a dear new friend of ours likes to say: you deserve the world. Thank you for being part of our world.
